MOTIF SOUND ENGINE

MOTIF Sound Engine Voices made up of up to eight Elements. These Elements can be over-layered for a chunky, broad sound or defined so other Elements play in other parts of the MX88. You can further shift amongst Elements by velocity for in-depth gestures or randomize Elements for everything from the faint variety to developmental sounds.

FM ESSENTIAL

FM Essential is a FREE 4-Operator FM synthesizer app for iOS. The classic version features 10 Voices, but intertwining the MX88 Music Synthesizer (via the Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter – not included) opens up 271 FM Voices, from iconic 80s to leading-edge modern EDM. Full voice-editing capacity is also open and available. FM Essential also showcases fixed effects, EQ, drum phrases and an arrangement for automizing your control changes.

VCM EFFECTS

Virtual Circuitry Modeling (VCM) restores the sounds and actions of generations before effects and extravagant studio signal processors by designing the circuits down to the original analog component level.

CUBASE AI

Constructed on the same root technologies located in Steinberg’s Cubase progressive music production software, Cubase AI is a unique compact version contributing to all the basic tools for recording, editing, and mixing. It gives dynamic yet easy-to-use software tools for a variety of music styles limited to customers of selected Steinberg and Yamaha hardware.

CONNECTIVITY

The MX88 is USB audio and MIDI-capable, allowing you to record and playback stereo audio back and forth from your computer or iOS device. This is great for recording the MX88 into your DAW and listening to your songs through speakers or headphones.

Nonetheless, the MX88 is capable of more than connecting to your DAW - it's also a committed control surface. Use the awaiting transport controls with your DAW and interact with plug-in guidelines from the control knobs. There are multiple in house Remote Control Templates for interacting with favored soft synths and plug-ins and a 16-channel MIDI interface for using the MX88 as one and the other a keyboard controller and tone generator.
