Epiphone DR-500MCE EMECVSNH3 Acoustic Guitar:
The DR500MCE is an absolutely amazing guitar constructed with the same great quality of earlier Masterbilt guitars from the 1930's, has a Solid Sitka Spruce Top, Mahogany back and sides, hand-scalloped Sitka Spruce braces, Mahogany kerfing, and a genuine bone saddle and nut. This is definitely one guitar who's tone greatly improves with age and play, especially form the solid spruce top. It's famous dreadnought shape along with the easy-access cutaway helps make this guitar easy to play, and sound amazing with booming bass, fantastically balanced midrange, and a projection that reminds you of how an acoustic should sound from back in the golden days of rock, country, bluegrass or folk. The historic off-set headstock and stickpin headstock inlay along with a 1.68" bone nut, and the vintage handcrafted dovetail neck joint as seen in all classic 1930's era acoustics really help bring back that classic tone and construction.
As fantastic as the DR-500MCE sounds unplugged, it sounds just as amazing when plugged in thanks to its new eSonic2HD™ preamp which as a built in tuner, made in cooperation with Shadow Germany. It also has NanoFlex HD™ Tone, NanoMag™ Tone, stereo blend, and a phase switch to help eliminate unwanted feedback. This preamps runs to a Nanomag neck pickup and an under the saddle pickup for the great amplified acoustic sounds that Epiphone is known for. These pickups can also be used simultaneously, or individually, as well as blended back and forth.
The preamp uses two AAA batteries that are not only lightweight, but provide significantly longer life than old-fashioned, heavy 9V batteries.
