This gorgeous bass is a vintage 1962 Fender jazz bass. This bass is old and has been loved for many many years so it does have a very noticeable amount of wear to it. This bass, however, is in great condition for being over 60 years old! All of the electronics still work and it sounds and plays excellently, dare I say even better than a lot of the new jazz bass models! The neck is thin and smooth for easy movement and it sits comfortably in the lap with not too much weight to it.

Starting with the most noticeable thing, it has been refinished by the previous owner. The original color was a beautiful sunburst that was then painted blue and stripped, unfortunately. Despite this refinish though, it still looks super cool and the wood itself has no major cracks or damage that affect the playability of the instrument! The neck was not touched and is made of Brazilian Rosewood and sounds as beautiful as it looks.

The bridge pickup is the original by Lindy Fralin and has been rewound and does 100% work properly. The pots are also original and come with the original mutes as well as the original screws for the mutes. We believe the bridge and pickup covers are original however we are not entirely sure but they do work properly. There is some noticeable wear and tear by the bridge but these marks do not affect the sound or anything else. The pick-guard and tuning keys are also the original and still work perfectly!

The case is NOT the original, it is a 70's generic model so it is still vintage and still fits the bass perfectly. The latches close and lock and the original keys are also included. There are no cracks or damage to the case that would affect its ability to protect the bass. It is heavy duty and hard-shell so the instrument stays safe. The fur is worn down due to its age but it does not affect anything and still keeps the bass safe!

This is an amazing vintage piece with a lot of love and time behind it and many more years ahead of it with another owner who will love it just as much as the last!
