The PR4E is and has been one of Epiphone's better selling guitars since the guitar was put into production over a decade ago. The guitar is known for giving a beginner guitarist a professional sounding instrument, with a high quality build, and an affordable price that's guaranteed to last a long time.
The PR-4E features a select Spruce top and mahogany sides, which are some of the more saught after woods for a guitar, this guitar has a great natural sound that will only get better with age, and project a nice rich tone. This guitar even has the same X-bracing that vintage Epiphone Masterbilts had, which are some of the most saught after acoustic guitars. Considering it's size, this guitar has a great overall sound, and does not suffer from and overly "boomy" or "scooped" sound that some other beginner guitars do.
The electronics in this guitar don't slack either. Under the saddle is a piezo pickup system that runs to a pre-amp which has a built in 3-Band EQ to balance the sound to your liking, a volume control, and a phase switch to help reduce any feedback that sometimes accompanies amplified acoustics, along with a low battery indicator.
The amplifier included as an Epiphone Studio Acoustic 15C 15 Watt amp with a 6.5" speaker. It has 2 inputs, one 1/4" input, and an XLR input, making it possible to amplify your guitar and run a mic at the same time. There's also a 1/4" headphone jack, which is uncommon in most small amplifiers.
